PowerDashboard has many advanced features, however it is easy to use. The software comes with an intuitive step-by-step configuration wizard that helps setting your configuration information and operating parameters.

The multiple functions of PowerDashboard can be divided into the following main sections:

1. Configuration: keep a detailed inventory of your equipment for future reference.
2. Monitoring: dashboard graphic interface is straight forward and intuitive
3. Logging: keep detailed logs of key items, logging includes; instantaneous, average, daily, monthly and total.
4. Graphing: create customized graphing of data in log files.
5. Weather Station: capture real-time wind speed and direction information.
6. Turbine RPM: capture real-time rpm's of your wind/hydro turbine.
7. Meters: similar output as seen on Xantrex SCP meters display, but better!.
   See all critical inputs/outputs on a single screen (not limited to displaying 4 lines of data...)
8. Transfer: use email or FTP to transfer data.
9. Remote Access: get access to run-time and logged data remotely via the Internet.
10. Tools: keep track of meter readings, maintenance logs and periodic reminders.
11. Auto-Shutdown: Turbine owners now have ability to define triggers that can affect an automatic turbine shutdown, depending on set 'trigger' parameter(s).

The main principal of PowerDashboard is: Do No Harm! (a phrase coined by Google)

What is meant by that is that the software does *not* transmit any data onto the XanBus, in the way of commands sent to the Xantrex XW inverter or other ancillary equipment. The software currently is strictly in a 'listen only' mode.

By only listening, a positive side benefit is that PowerDashboard software does not create any increase of the communications traffic on the XanBus!

The software constantly monitors the data on the XanBus, intreprets it dynamically, and updates information that is available to the suite of PowerDashboard applications.
