My shop equipment and skills have grown to the point that I can provide assistance to other builders.

I have a long history in wood and metal working and can help out your project with fabrication, welding and machining services.

Reverse Unit for Trikes

Here is a summary of the numerous features that this reverse box provides:

• The unit provides a 'separation' from the jack shaft, when the vehicle is driven in forward direction the jack-shaft will not be driving the DC motor.
• No physical disconnect is required
• Provides a variable speed reverse without having to vary the speed of the DC motor
• No variable speed controller required for DC motor
• Additional gear reduction, providing more torque available at the rear wheel
• Adjustable band tension
• Plate that holds the output shaft is rotatable to either of 4 positions
• If you have tall gearing, you could actually use the unit to provide some initial forward thrust from a stop, by reversing the DC motor
• Should be easily retrofitted into any vehicle that uses a jack-shaft

Recommended speed of DC motor is 60-150 rpm
